Designer duo Riimple & Mayyur Girotra in association with Jewellery Designer Sulish Verma of ‘Vikas Chain & Jewellery’ recently hosted an evening for the fashion connoisseurs of the capital. The select guests comprising of who’s who of the town got a chance to look at two of the most awaited collections in bridal wear for the upcoming Dubai Fashion Weekby Riimple & Mayyur and the most prolific bridal jewellery by Sulish Verma. The fashion patrons also got a chance to get mesmerized by some live Sufi Music at the venue by DJ Sumit Sethi. Also keeping in mind the. The Mehandi wala decorating the hands of all the women with heena for the festival occasion of Karwa Chauth. those who were seen enjoying the evening were Deepika Anand, Jewelery designer Binnu Singh, Make-up artists Megha & Neha, Manu & Mamta, Salloli Kumar with Siddharth, Rooma Sekhri, Preet S Ghai, Liza Verma, Shalini Kochhar, Sangeeta Mehta, Sapna Maken, Ratika Seth, Sona Goyal, Rekha Chawla, Swati Pandya Sood andMeenakshi Sood Dutt among others. Riimple & Mayyur showcased 5 garments from their collection ‘Afreen - A tribute to the beauty of women.’ However, they will be showcasing a total of 32 at the Dubai Fashion Week. A visibly ecstatic Mayyur said, “We have drawn inspiration from the very opulent and distinct heritage of India, by combining bling and solid bright colours of thread, resham jaals, zardozi and kundan work. Our collections have always had elements from the art and architecture of the Mughal era, this time round as well, the motifs, patterns and kalis are very much Mughal in nature. Our forte of resham and thread embroidery has been the focus in this collection, where different cuts and styles of anarkalis, shararas,dhoti’s combined with corcets and jackets will be showcased. We have given it a twist by adding a modern and western influence to our designs. The fabrics we primarily use are net, georgette and cotton satin.” According to Sulish, “Vikas Chain & Jewelllery has always thrived for perfection and offering the best to its patrons. With Aakarshan, we are going to further strengthen our relationship with our patrons. With the special showcase of Bridal jewellery consisting of Kudan, Polki, Chowker sets, Couple bands & Bandgalas, it will surely be the one stop destination for all the bling lovers of the capital.”
